As I was reading this excellent article about Corey Koskie’s return to health and baseball, words scrolled across the bottom of the MLB Network broadcast:

Inf Corey Koskie agreed to terms on a 1-yr deal with Cubs and received invitation to Spring Training.

I’m so thrilled to hear that Koskie has recovered and that he’s playing ball for Team Canada (alongside a certain other Canadian we like a lot) and will get a shot at playing for the Cubs this year. I saw him at Twins games a couple of times last season; one time he was on the field during batting practice when the Twins faced the Brewers– he was catching up with players and coaches from both teams. And I saw him again at the Dome when they had some folks with brain injuries there.

I truly wish him well in both life and baseball.

The fabulous MLB Network (well, I’m loving it so far) just started a series of shows that covers each team this spring called 30 Teams in 30 Days. Last night they kicked it off with the Red Sox, tonight they’re covering the Twins. 7pm central time, 8pm Eastern is the first showing; there’s another showing at 11pm central, midnight eastern.

And hey– the Twins signed Joe Crede! Press conference should be going on right now, but MLB Network is showing the Ken Griffey Jr. press conference and FSN has a basketball game so I don’t think it’s on TV and I doubt it’s that interesting anyway.
