About
What’s all this then?
Yet another weblog about the Minnesota Twins.
Who are you?
Laurel Krahn built the site and can be blamed for the design and all the technical stuff. She’s also posted the most here, though posts from the 2007 season have removed because Laurel felt it was time for a fresh start.
Laurel’s husband Kevin G. Austin contributes to this site. Laurel & Kevin’s friends Peter Hentges, Timprov, and Marissa Lingen also post to the site. If you’ve got stuff to say about the Twins and don’t already have a Twins weblog of your own, comment enough here and we just might ask you if you’d like to contribute posts to this site too.
Why another Twins weblog?
Laurel says: I hadn’t intended to start yet another weblog, but since most of the people who read my online journal and other web stuff aren’t at all interested in baseball (crazy fools), I thought it made sense to put all my baseball natter in one place (that they didn’t have to read). And I imagine there are people out there who might be interested in baseball natter, who don’t need to read about how cute my cats are or what’s on TV each night. And then I thought of my few friends who are also Twins fans, but don’t have Twins blogs of their own (yet) so it seemed like a good place for them to write about the Twins too.
So how long has this been going on?
We started this weblog at the beginning of the 2007 season and updated it occasionally throughout the season. Not as often as we’d hoped to because we’re all pretty busy and already have plenty of other places where we post about stuff online. We hope to do better for the 2008 season.
If you find yourself here looking for something from 2007, we can put old stuff back on the site if there’s demand for it. Just ask via the contact form.
Inspiration
We’re all big fans of Batgirl and miss her regular postings very much and are thrilled any time she surfaces to talk about baseball anywhere. We know that we will invariably use nicknames that originated on Batgirl’s site and other terminology that started there so if you’re lost, odds are good that we’re referring back to something from that site.
Some of us also find ourselves using nicknames and other slang from Pulling A Blyleven.
Design Stuff & Other Technical Things
This weblog is powered by Wordpress and hosted by DreamHost. Laurel created the “Win Twins” graphic using a couple of old Twins publications for source material and inspiration; she’d appreciate it if you don’t swipe the graphic or link to it without asking for permission first. The Wordpress template we use is a heavily modified version of Simplified which Laurel purchased for use on this site. This site also uses a ton of Wordpress plug-ins, if you want more info, just ask.
What’s with the shopping links?
If you pay Amazon.com a visit via any of our links, a little bit of the money you spend comes back to us to help us pay for web hosting and stuff like that. Laurel has been shopping at Amazon for many years and highly recommends them or we wouldn’t link to them on this site.
